Please note: Non-residents who are not registered on the Spanish Health System will be required to present up to date EHIC cards and passport if requiring medical treatment whilst in Spain. Although there are agreements in place between the UK and Spain, some medical situations are not covered on EHIC cards, ( ie repatriation costs should a patient require ambulance transfer back to the UK) and it is VITAL to take out travel insurance even when visiting family and friends as well.

There is no medical centre in the resort itself – although one is signposted it has now closed down - but La Torre is unusual in that there is a chemist’s!

This is located in the shopping village next to the restaurant area and is open every day including Sundays (from 10.00 to 13.30 and 18.00 to 22.00). Massage therapy can also be booked at the chemist’s.

The nearest medical centre is in the nearby small town of Roldán, just one kilometre south as the crow flies and easily reached through the southern security gate by King’s College, has a medical centre in Calle Parque (tel 968 589691), next to the Civic Centre and multi-purpose hall. (Sat nav 37º 48´2.43"N 1º 0´18.33"W.)

The two chemists are at Avda Balsicas nº 19 (tel 968 589151) and on the Avenida Torre Pacheco (tel 968 589872).

There is also a private CRC medical centre in Roldan at c/ Sancho Panza nº 41, tel 968 589577, where you can obtain the medical certificates needed for renewing your driving licence, and sporting activities, among other services.

SUAP: This is also a medical emergency cover centre so will treat emergencies outside of normal hours. The SUAP centre is open from Monday to Saturday from 3pm until 8am the following morning and Sundays and Festival days offers 24 hour cover. It must be stressed that this is for EMERGENCIES only and all other conditions should use the normal doctor system.

For accident and emergency the nearest hospital is the Hospital Universitario Los Arcos Del Mar Menor, Paraje Torre Octavio, Pozo Aledo, San Javier, tel 968 570 050. To get there take the C-3319 towards San Javier, and the hospital is signposted after a few kilometers before you reach the AP-7.
