ARCHIVED - More rain than sun in Murcia this Constitution week: Weather forecast December 5-11
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
While it will be a wet one in the Murcia Region this week, it will not be as cold as last week
This week in Spain, there are two national public holidays – on Tuesday December 6 and Thursday 8 – meaning that some businesses, schools and shops will be shut on these days and possibly one or more days either side.
By all accounts, it will be a largely wet week in the Region of Murcia, with rain coming and going across all parts of the southern Spanish region throughout the week. But curiously, it should be slightly warmer than last week, with minimum temperatures a night time not falling below zero at any point in any part of the region from Monday to Sunday, and maximums during the early afternoon of between 17 and 21ºC.
Monday December 5 dawns dark and cloudy for most, though there will be bouts of sunshine for the southern municipalities of Murcia like Mazarrón and Águilas , and in the north in Jumilla and Cieza.

By 2am on Tuesday 6, though, it will start raining and there will even be thunderstorms early on Tuesday morning in Cartagena. While the rains will die away by midday, it will remain cloudy and grey all day and into Wednesday.

The sun should come out for most on Wednesday afternoon, one of the few moments of respite from the cold drizzle we’ll have all week.

Thursday 8, the second public bank holiday, will be the same as Tuesday – rainy in the morning and dry in the afternoon, and Friday 9 will bring a similar forecast. Saturday is expected to be the best day of the week, with sun all day for the entire region and temperatures rising up to 21ºC, but the following week looks set to be another cold one, with the return of the rain bringing a drop in temperatures on Sunday evening.
