More rain this weekend: Andalusia weather forecast February 13-16
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Another squall is forecast for southern Spain this weekend, but it will start to get noticeably warmer…
After some dramatic weather in parts of Andalucía this week – including destructive winds that formed a waterspout like a tornado in Huelva – we are in for a pleasant couple of days leading up to the weekend, followed by another storm sweeping across the region from the Atlantic.
For Thursday February 13, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts “fairly cloudy skies, with cloudy intervals of high clouds”, accompanied by “morning mist on the Atlantic slope”.
Minimum temperatures will decrease slightly, with light frost in the eastern inland areas like Granada and Jaén, while maximum temperatures will see a small increase or at least remain unchanged.

It’s hotting up for Friday 14, Valentine’s Day, with temperatures rising further still, up to highs of 17-22ºC in most places, for the most part cooler inland than on the coast. There will be only “light variable winds” and it will be mostly clear with some cloud cover.

On Saturday 15, however, our romances will be dampened by the return of the rain. It will start in the far northwest of Andalucía, coming in off the Atlantic and over Portugal towards midday, and begin its journey across the region, although thankfully it won’t be accompanied by very strong windspeeds this time.

By Saturday night, it will take in Cádiz and Seville, too, then going on to sweep over the provinces of Córdoba, Málaga, Granada and Jaén by mid-morning on Sunday 16. It will just miss most parts of Almería province, and will have rained itself out by Sunday afternoon, leaving sunny and slightly cloudy skies once again.

Even through all this rain, the temperatures continue to rise, up to maximums on Sunday of 18-23ºC, while the minimum temperatures at night rise to around 7-10ºC in most inland parts and around 12-13ºC on the coast.

And it doesn’t stop there, because Aemet is also predicting the temperatures to continue their steady rise into next week. While yet another bout of rain and some high winds are forecast for next Tuesday 18, temperatures by then will have climbed up by another couple of degrees.
