ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Take care when out and about in the sun this week!
Andalucía weather forecast, Friday July 12
It will be another roasting week for the northern inland parts of Andalucía, especially the province of Córdoba midweek, as temperatures reach up around the 40-degree mark again, putting the area on alert for extreme heat.
Andalucía weather warning, Wednesday July 10
On the coast, around Huelva, Cádiz, Málaga, Granada and Almería, it will be up to 10 degrees below this maximum level, so still hot and sunny but not that boiling.
Plenty of sunshine and not much cloud cover this week – only some scattered clouds on the coast at times – which will make it feel even hotter than it is.
Tuesday July 9 will be a bit foggy and misty in the morning around Cádiz, Marbella and parts of the Costa del Sol, but this will soon dissipate, leaving a lovely sunny day.
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday July 9
Almería and Cádiz will have some windy Poniente days on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11, with windspeeds up to 20kmh, but it will not be too strong and still pleasant enough to go to the beach.
On Thursday, the Córdoba municipality of Montoro – frequently the hottest place in Andalucía – is forecast to get up to 42ºC, but will then drop down again slightly over the next few days, becoming ‘cooler’ as we head into the weekend.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Andalucía, Thursday July 11
Night-time temperatures will be around 20ºC in most parts for the entire week, with inland Almería province frequently being a couple of degrees above the average and the highlands of Granada a couple of degrees below.
As always when it is very sunny and hot, the recommendation from health authorities is to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun at the hottest part of the day – from around 2pm to 6pm – and consult a medical professional if you think anything is wrong.
