Murcia Corvera airport wins award for Best European Airport
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
The Region of Murcia International Airport has been recognised as the Best European Airport in its category for the third year running
This program highlights airports’ commitment to improving the passenger experience and awards are given out based on the result of passenger surveys that measure their perception of the quality of the service, including aspects such as access, facilities, friendliness of staff, security and waiting time at security.
The general director of the airport concession company, Carlos Domingo San Martín, said, “Receiving for the third consecutive year the distinction as the best airport in Europe in its category is, on the one hand, a recognition of the commitment of all of us to the continuous improvement of our services, which we share with the regional administration, with the airline companies that support the airport and the Region of Murcia, and with the rest of the institutions and companies with which we work in a coordinated manner every day. And, on the other hand, it represents an enormous challenge and stimulus to live up to this milestone, and not only maintain, but improve the excellent rating of our passengers and users, further deepening the effort to offer the best travel experience for all those who arrive in our Region through airport facilities.”
In total, ACI has awarded the Best European Airport award to nine Spanish airports in the Aena network. This recognition, which has different categories depending on the size and number of passengers, has gone to the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport as the best airport with more than 40 million passengers; in Palma de Mallorca as the best airport between 25 and 40 million passengers; in
Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández in the category of between 15 and 25 million passengers; in Menorca as the best airport with between 2 and 5 million passengers, and in the airports of Almería, Girona-Costa Brava, Reus, International Region of Murcia and El Hierro, with fewer than 2 million passengers.
The president and CEO of Aena, Maurici Lucena, has expressed his gratitude for the granting of these awards, which “collect the fruits of the work and effort of all the Aena teams and motivate us to continue focusing on offering a service of the highest quality to customers.”
The awards ceremony will take place at the annual “ACI World Customer Experience Summit and Exhibition” meeting, which will be held in Atlanta (USA) from September 23 to 26, 2024.
