Murcia guarantees cheap taxis and free public transport throughout Spring Festival

Buses and trams will also be free in Murcia City on the main fiesta days
To ensure plenty of buzz and excitement on the streets of Murcia during the Spring Fiestas, which kick off right after Easter, the city council has announced that revellers will be able to travel for free on public transport, and that taxi prices will be capped during the main celebration days.
More than 400,000 daily seats will be up for grabs on public buses and trams on Bando del la Huerta, April 2, and the Burial of the Sardine, April 6. This means that 120 buses will be put to the roads, and 10 trams will hit the tracks.
To further enhance mobility during the holidays, the taxi industry has collaborated with the local government to establish special rates for specific routes. These rates, which represent a significant discount compared to the standard holiday fares, will be applicable from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday and during the Bando de la Huerta and Entierro de la Sardina festivities.
Some of the designated routes with fixed rates include:
Juan XXIII to Nueva Condomina: 20 euros
Díez de Revenga to Carrefour Zaraiche: 10 euros
González Conde to Rontonda Cliper Palmar: 15 euros
Red Cross to Carrefour Atalayas: 10 euros
Red Cross to Carrefour Infante: 8 euros
Bus detours along Gran Vía
To allow stewards to erect the stands and to prevent any issues with the parade, the bus lane from Martínez Tornel to Plaza Circular will be closed from March 26 until April 7.
The setup of the stands, beginning on Holy Tuesday, will partially occupy the bus and bike lanes on Gran Vía, so the buses will be rerouted to the Plaza Circular while maintaining regular traffic flow for private vehicles and buses from the Circular to Martínez Tornel.
This change will impact 11 bus lines in Murcia and its surrounding areas, but the detour details are available at bus stops and on the website. The rerouted buses will use the Miguel Caballero walkway, turning right onto Avenida de La Fama, Ronda de Levante, Plaza Circular, and then returning to Gran Vía towards Martínez Tornel.
Free parking
Murcia City Council is providing free parking in five municipal parking facilities from Holy Wednesday until Sunday April 7, a total of twelve days. The facilities included are Atocha, Loaysa, Justicia, Fuenteblanca and Condomina, with a total of more than 8,000 parking spaces available.
