Murcia weather forecast June 3-9: Nights are hotting up but rain is on the way
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Temperatures are due to stay high this week, especially at night, but we will at least be blessed with some rain
Murcia is in for some more hot and sunny weather this week, with temperatures at night starting to get close to 20ºC and during the day it will exceed 30ºC. It will be bright and clear for the most part, with the chance of thunderstorms and showers in the north and northwest at times, especially in the approach to next weekend.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Monday June 3 brings “fairly cloudy skies,” especially in the “northern sierras of the Region, where occasional showers are not ruled out”.
Tuesday 4 continues this trend, and there will be continuing cloud cover on Wednesday 5, but the chance of rain is slim. There will be “light breezy winds, with moderate easterly winds on the coast.”

Temperatures rise to their peak on Thursday June 6, up to around 36ºC in Alhama de Murcia and the rest of the centre and north. On the coast it will be more like 29-33ºC at the hottest point of the day, which is at around 5 or 6pm.

While the maximums are forecast to drop slightly on Friday 7, the minimums will continue to rise, bringing nights when it never drops below 19ºC in the north of the Region and the coldest it gets is 22ºC on the coast. Definitely time to change to the summer bedclothes if you haven’t already!
The weekend continues the warm spell for Murcia, but with the addition of rain forecast for Saturday June 8 in the north, northwest and even down as far as Alhama, Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras. Thank goodness because without occasional rain showers it will be a very dry and dangerous summer as far as forest fires and drought are concerned!
