In something of a continuation of last week’s weather, the Region of Murcia will have more showery and stormy episodes this week to break up the usual spells of sunshine and, as we approach the autumn equinox this coming Saturday September 23 to signal the start of autumn, temperatures will gradually begin their descent from the summery highs we’ve become used to.
At first it will mainly be the western side of the Region which gets the rain, including Lorca, Moratalla and Caravaca, though there will be widespread cloud cover in many other parts on Monday September 18.
Tuesday 19 is overcast all over, with the dark clouds unleashing rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon in virtually the entire Region of Murcia. The rains will last all night long and into Wednesday 20, when there will be yet more electrical storms in the morning.
Murcia weather forecast, Tuesday September 19
By Wednesday evening, the 24 hours of non-stop rain will dry up, leaving a bright and sunny Thursday with just some light cloud cover.
These conditions should persist across the weekend, with Caravaca and the northwest, and sometimes parts of central Murcia, experiencing brief showery spells.
Across the course of the week, temperatures at night will begin to drop a couple of degrees, dipping as low as 11ºC in Bullas and the northwest but remaining as high as 16-19ºC in the south and centre of the Region.
Daytime temperatures will also just about reach up to 30ºC on a couple of days this week, but overall 25-28ºC will be more normal and the decline in maximums during the day will be noticeable in comparison with the heatwaves we’ve had this summer.
