Temperatures are on the rise again in Murcia, though there could be some windy episodes this week

This weekend, Murcia was one of the hottest places in the country, with the weather stations at San Javier’s old airport and in Totana registering maximums of 30.6ºC and 30.3ºC, respectively, in the early afternoon of Saturday April 26.

The weather forecast for the Region of Murcia this week, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), is for sunny skies and rising temperatures, though there will be one blip with a bit of wind, rain and calima dust in the air.
Monday April 28 promises to be dry and bright, with some scattered cloud cover and “light easterly winds, increasing to moderate in the afternoon, more intense on the coast, decreasing to light in the evening,” but never much more than 20kmh, according to Aemet.

On the morning of Tuesday 29 we can expect some “occasional light rainfall” in Murcia, especially around the Mar Menor is the centre-north of the Region. The rain will clear by the afternoon by Aemet also says there will be “dust in suspension at the end of the day, when mud deposits could occur,” while windspeeds could pick up to as much as 30kmh on the coast at times.

The same is true of Wednesday 30, with strong coastal winds blowing that calima away and those rainclouds away, and with rising temperatures – both minimum and maximum.

The wind will be less strong on Thursday May 1, which is a national holiday in Spain, and Murcia will see more bright, sunny skies with even minimum temperatures breaching 10ºC in even the coldest part of the Region.
Temperatures continue to rise as we go into the weekend, with maximums reaching as high as 30ºC again by Friday 2 and Saturday 3.
