October 28 to November 15 Kenny Barron and Samara Joy top the bill at the Cartagena Jazz Festival

Kenny Barron, Samara Joy, Andrea Motis, Kurt Elling and Ibrahim Maalouf are among the stars performing in Cartagena this year

Tickets are now on sale for the 45^th Cartagena Jazz Festival, one of the largest and most important in Spain and capable of attracting true greats of the genre and indeed of many other styles of music.

Evidence of that can be found in the 2026 programme, which between 28^th October and 15^th November includes shows by such well-known names as Kenny Barron, Samara Joy, Ibrahim Maalouf, Andrea Motis, Kurt Elling and Nacho Vegas!

The main venues for the concerts are the Auditorio El Batel on the seafront in the city centre, the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, the Mr Witt Café (click for map) and the Plaza del Icue.

Ticket purchases for all events can be accessed online here where appropriate: events at the Mr Witt Café and the Plaza del Icue do not require prior booking.

Wednesday October 28

21.30: Aurora Plazza, jazz pop and bossa nova vocalist at the Mister Witt Café, tickets 5 euros.

Thursday October 29

20.30: Micah P. Hinson, vocalist from the southern USA, at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, tickets 18 euros.

22.00: The Hermes Alcaraz Trio jam sesión at the Mister Witt Café, admission free of charge.

Friday October 30

20.30: Ibrahim Maalouf and “The Trumpets of Michel-Ange, Vol 2”, the French-Lebanese trumpeter at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25, 30 and 35 euros.

Saturday October 31

12.30: Mood Swing, swing music, boogie woogie and R&B live in the Plaza del Icue. Free of charge.

20.00: Andrea Motis and the Barcelona Gospel Messenger, “To Amy”, one of the top European trumpeters presents a tribute to Amy Winehouse at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25, 30 and 35 euros.

Sunday November 1

12.30: Pantera Blue, groove and elegance on the terrace outside the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 15 euros.

19.00: Niño Josele with “20 Years of Peace, a homage to Bill Evans”, the flamenco guitarist at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25 euros.

Wednesday November 4

21.30: Maxi Caballero Trio at the Mister Witt Café. Tickets 5 euros.

Thursday November 5

20.30: Izo Fitzroy, British soul, jazz, folk and gospel singer, at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy. Tickets 18 euros.

20.30: Nubiyan Twist, electronic jazz and Afrobeat at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25 euros.

20.00: Kenny Barron, “Songbook”, featuring Ekep Nkwelle, Russell Hall and Jonathan Barber. Tickets 25, 30 and 35 euros.

Legendary pianist Kenny Barron is one of the most influential in the history of jazz and recipient of the San Javier festival special award in 2022. A leading figure in the tradition of be-bop on the piano, he has worked with countless top-tier musicians including Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Turrentine, Milt Jackson, and Yusef Lateef.

Considered by many as the best living jazz pianist and a true master of the piano trio art, he returns to the Region of Murcia with a new group of musicians to headline the 45^th Cartagena Jazz Festival.

Sunday November 8

19.00: Kurt Elling & The Yellowjackets, the double Grammy winning singer at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25, 30 and 35 euros.

21.30: Sebastián Mondéjar, multi-talented veteran artist from Murcia, at the Mister Witt Café. Tickets 5 euros.

Wednesday November 11

21.30: La Patri at the Mister Witt Café. Tickets 5 euros.

Thursday November 12

20.30: Nacho Vegas, one of the most widely respected vocalists in Spain and Latin America, at the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, tickets 30 euros.

Friday November 13

20.30: Rocío Márquez, the flamenco Star, at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25 euros.

Saturday November 14

12.30: The Big Band of the Conservatorio in the Plaza Cartagenas del Mundo. No admission charge.

20.00: Rita Payés & Lucía Fumero at the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 25, 30 and 35 euros.

Sunday November 15

12.30: La Perra Blanco, energetic rock and roll on the terrace outside the Auditorio El Batel. Tickets 18 euros.
