October 6 to 15 Annual fiestas in Torre Pacheco

A huge progamme of free music, artisan crafts, parades and lots of fun

Torre Pacheco celebrates its fiestas every October in honour of the Virgen del Rosario and this year the festivities last from October 6 to 15.

Throughout this period the centre of Torre Pacheco is filled with events and activities, the two central areas being the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in the centre of town and the Recinto de Peñas next to the local football stadium.

For many people the highlight of the annual fiestas is the parade of floats decorated by rolled paper, which is unique to Torre Pacheco and is being held on the national holiday of October 12. There is also a typical selection of the normal fairground attractions and children’s activities, as well as fun events like a melon-throwing competition: something for everyone!

Friday October 6

17.30: The fiestas being with singing and dancing for toddlers and young children in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

21.00: Traditional floral offering to the Virgen del Rosario in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Saturday October 7, the Day of the Virgen del Rosario

9.30: Musical parade through the streets of Torre Pacheco accompanied by the fiestas queen and her maids of honour.

12.00: Holy Mass in honour of the Virgen del Rosario.

13.15: Concert by the Unión Musical de Torre Pacheco.

19.30: Procession in honour of the patron, the Virgen del Rosario.

21.30: Firework display.

22.30: Voulez Vous, a tribute show to Abba in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

23.30: Live music from Celtas Cortos in the Recinto de Peñas.

Sunday October 8

10.00: Model aeroplanes competition at the "Los Halcones de la Rambla" club in El Jimenado.

12.00: Musical Mass the the Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario group.

12.30: Huertano parade in traditional costume.

14.30: A lunch of migas followed by live music at the Recinto de Peñas.

17.00: Bullfighting in the Plaza de Toros.

19.00: A giant sandwich at the Recinto de Peñas.

Monday October 9

22.00: Tug of war at the Recinto de Peñas.

Tuesday October 10

Children’s day at the fairground, half price on all rides!

22.00: The Tug of War competition final.

Wednesday October 11

22.00: Live music from Abanico de Coplas in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

23.30: 90s music festival at the Recinto de Peñas.

Thursday October 12

12.00: Torre Pacheco Game Party, video games at the Recinto de Peñas.

12.30: The Day Fair opens in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with music and dance performances throughout the afternoon.

17.30: “The World Melon-Throwing Championship” at the Recinto de Peñas.

18.30: Classic Seat 600 cars at the Recinto de Peñas.

Friday October 13

18.30: Fashion parade in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

21.00: The Villa de Torre Pacheco Folk music and dance festival, featuring groups from Matilla in the province of Segovia and Moixent in Valencia as well as the local Grupo Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

23.30: Superlatino music festival at the Recinto de Peñas.

Saturday October 14

10.00: Chess tournament in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

20.00: The grand rolled paper float parade starts in Avenida Fontes and continues along Calle Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Avenida de Roldán to the Recinto de Peñas.

22.30: A musical tribute to singer Camilo Sexto in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

23.30: MOMO, a Queen tribute act, at the Recinto de Peñas.

Sunday October 15

10.00: Model jet aeroplanes competition at the "Los Halcones de la Rambla" club in El Jimenado.

10.00: Classic motor vehicles event outside the Centro Cívico.

10.30: Horse and carriage event at the Recinto de Peñas, with participants then parading through the streets from the Recinto de Peñas before lunch at 13.00.

23.00: Firework display to mark the end of the 2023 fiestas in Torre Pacheco.
