Primark opens its newly renovated stores in Orihuela and Elche
The improvements include a more modern look, plus self-checkout tills for customers
Primark has unveiled its renovated stores at the Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre in Orihuela and L’Aljub Shopping Centre in Elche. These store refits are part of the retailer’s ongoing commitment to investing in the Spanish market and “delivering a fantastic in-store experience for customers and colleagues”.
The renovated stores feature a fresh new look and feel for Primark shoppers to enjoy, alongside new fixtures, fittings and lightboxes located throughout the store. Shoppers can continue to enjoy Primark’s wide range of fashion, beauty, lifestyle and homeware products, all at the great value Primark customers have come to know and expect.
Following the completion of the works, both stores now feature self-service checkouts, meaning customers will now be able to choose between paying at either served tills or self-service checkouts.
Mark Wilson, Area Manager Primark Orihuela and Elche, said, “We are delighted to welcome customers to our newly renovated stores in Orihuela and Elche. From the refreshed décor to the introduction of self-service checkouts, everything is designed to further enhance the in-store shopping experience. None of this would have been possible without the commitment of our team, who I would like to thank for their hard work and dedication.”
Alongside all Primark stores across Spain, both Orihuela and Elche stores will be participating in Primark’s fundraising for those impacted by the DANA. Fundraising will take place at till points in stores from now until January with all money raised going towards supporting those affected.
This fundraising supports Primark’s wider collaboration with the Red Cross and direct support to colleagues impacted by the floods. In addition, Primark has worked and continues to work with a number of organisations in the affected areas.
In 2022, Primark bolstered its commitment to Spain by announcing a capital investment of 100 million euros into its Spanish business. The investment included 80 million for eight new stores, one store extension and a 20-million-euro investment in upgrades and refurbishments in existing stores. Seven of the eight new stores are now open, with Jaén Plaza to follow.
