Enjoy the moments when the sun pops out because it will otherwise be a drizzly weekend, especially for the north of the Region
Murcia weather warnings, Thursday May 8
While there will be plenty of calm periods of sunshine, and the temperatures will rise slightly over the course of the weekend, it’s also true that the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is predicting bouts of rain and storms in the Region of Murcia for practically every day of the weekend… and even some hail is possible this Thursday!
Thursday May 8 starts off settled with some morning mist inland, but in the afternoon it turns very cloudy and wet, with storms possibly even hail forecast for some areas.
The yellow-level weather warnings for storms and 15mm of rain per hour between 12pm and 9pm this Thursday have been extended to include the southwest of Murcia, as well as the north and central parts, leaving only the Mar Menor and Campo de Cartagena area not under alert, though these parts still get rain and storms on this day.

After that, Friday 9 will be much more settled. There could be more misty patches in the north first thing in the morning, and a spot of gentle rain in the afternoon in the high sierras of the northwest, but for the most part it will be calm, with a slight increase in maximum temperatures.

These settled conditions continue into Saturday 10, with temperatures rising a degree or two further still. But some areas, mostly the northwest of Murcia again around Mula and Caravaca, can expect rain and even more storms on Saturday afternoon, though no weather alerts have yet been issued.

It’s a similar story on Sunday 11, when Aemet forecasts a bright and sunny morning for all, followed by widespread but light showers for practically the entire Region in the afternoon and possible thunderstorms in the area around Lorca and Totana. Still, temperatures will continue to rise, up to highs of 23-28ºC, and once again, the rain and storms are not expected to be strong enough to warrant a weather warning.

Going into the beginning next week, temperatures may dip a little, and these sometimes sunny, sometimes stormy conditions look set to carry on, according to Aemet.
