ARCHIVED - Rain, fog and falling temperatures on the way: Murcia weather forecast May 8-14
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
It’s expected to drop by nearly ten degrees from Monday to Friday
After weeks of excessively high temperatures, scalding sunshine and barely a drop of rain to speak of most places, the Region of Murcia is finally in for a bit of a break later this week, with rain and a dramatic drop in temperatures forecast for the end of this week.
Monday May 8 will be much the same as we have grown accustomed to in recent weeks: with bright sunshine, some scattered clouds here and there, and maximum temperatures in the early afternoon of 32ºC in Cieza (at the warmer end of the scale) and 23ºC in Cartagena (at the cooler end). Later at night some fog will roll in from the west into Águilas and Mazarrón on the coast but apart from that there will be nothing to write home about.
On Tuesday May 9, too, there will be some fog in Cartagena, and temperatures will reach up to 33ºC in Cieza and Yecla, and up to 26ºC in Cartagena and Los Alcázares. Minimum temperatures at night-time will be 11ºC in Yecla and around 13-15ºC in most other places.
Maximum temperatures will not be quite so high on Wednesday 10, and there will be increased high cloud cover, but it will not be until Thursday 11 that the sharp drop in temperatures is felt in earnest.
We will only get to highs of around 24-27ºC and there will be rain on Thursday morning around the entire mid-north area of Murcia, including in Alhama de Murcia and Mula and from Moratalla to Yecla.

More rain is forecast for Friday 12, though only a little bit in Totana, and up in Fortuna, Abanilla, Yecla and Jumilla. It will be very cloudy all over the Region of Murcia and both minimum and maximum temperatures will drop by an average of 3 degrees.
Saturday May 13 sees a bit of a return to normal, with bright sunshine forecast once again. But it will not get any warmer and, while 22-25ºC is a respectable daytime temperature, the change will be noticeable from the scorching weekends we have had of late.
