ARCHIVED - Rain every day this week: Andalusia weather forecast September 12-18
ARCHIVED ARTICLE
There are yellow warnings for rain and high temperatures on Monday to start a very changeable week of weather
To a greater or lesser extent, there will be rain every single day this week somewhere in the Andalusia region.
After a scorching sunny summer that broke records for the high temperatures and threatened drought conditions because of a lack of rain, it seems that autumn is well and truly on the way.
There are yellow weather warnings activated in the west of Andalusia for rainfall of 15mm per hour, in Huelva on Monday and spreading to Seville on Tuesday, while the Jaen countryside is also on yellow alert for high temperatures this Monday of up to 38ºC.
As well as in Huelva on Monday, there will be rain and even thunderstorms in Jaen and Granada, but the coastal areas of Almeria, Malaga and Cadiz should remain sunny with just some cloudy intervals.
On Tuesday September 13, though, the real trouble begins and there is rain for just about everyone at some point during the day, while the maximum temperatures drop by a full 10 degrees down to 28ºC. Incidentally, ‘Tuesday 13’ is the Spanish equivalent of the superstitious bad-luck day of Friday 13 in the English-speaking world.
Wednesday 14 brings a little bit of everything, with rain, sun and clouds in the east and west, and largely sunny conditions in the centre of the region.
Thursday brings more of the same, with especially heavy rain in the west across Huelva, but spreading across Seville, Cordoba, Malaga and Jaen.
From Friday, though, and going into the weekend, the weather will dry up and there will be only scattered showers in parts of Almeria, Ronda and Marbella. Temperatures, too, will rise again above the 30-degree mark in what may be a signal of a highly changeable and dramatic autumn to come with extreme weather conditions of heat and rain.
