BUS STOPS

The main bus station in San Javier is in Avenida Pinatar (click for map), while there is also a stop on Avenida Mar Menor in Santiago de la Ribera (click for map).

ROUTE 46 ALONG THE SHORE OF THE MAR MENOR

Both of these main stops are both included on the following Movibus route along the inland shore of the Mar Menor (number 46) between Cartagena and San Cabo de Palos:

TO AND FROM MADRID

Route: Molina de Segura, Cieza, Hellín, Tabarra, Pozo Cañada, Albacete, La Roda, Minaya, Mota del Cuervo, Quintanar de la Orden, Madrid Estación Sur.

The journey takes around 6 hours and costs just over 40 euros (16/4/2026).

 

TO AND FROM BILBAO AND NORTHERN SPAIN

Services leave from Cartagena and pass through Logroño, Vitoria, Bilbao and Santander, or Tudela, Pamplona, Tolosa, San Sebastián and Irún.

The journey to Bilbao takes over 12 hours and costs around 65 euros (16/4/2026).

BOAT

The ferry service across the Mar Menor runs from Santiago de la Ribera to La Manga del Mar Menor (Puerto Tomás Maestre, km 12) and is run by Mar Menor Ferry (www.marmenorferry.com). Tickets are sold on board and the service is subject to alteration or cancellation due to adverse weather.
