Storm warnings for Spanish Costas: Andalusia weekly weather forecast October 14-20
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
It will be a wet start to the week in the south of Spain, but should dry out towards the weekend
The start of this week in Andalucía will be very wet again, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), while from Thursday onwards it should be drier, if still grey and cloudy.
It will also be a bit cooler than last week, with daytime temperatures dropping off by 3-4ºC but minimums at night staying at a similar level.
For Monday October 14, Aemet forecasts “cloudy skies” with “some weak and scattered rain, more intense at night in the southern regions of the region, where skies will be very cloudy and precipitation may be accompanied by thunderstorms and mud deposits” due to the calima dust in the air. These rainstorms have put much of the south coast of Spain on yellow alert for Monday night.

The weather warnings are still in place for Tuesday morning, October 15, around Málaga and Cádiz, but for the most part it will not be too stormy or dangerous. Rather, persistent rain is forecast for pretty much the whole of Andalucía (excepting Almería) for the best part of the day, while the calima will have cleared up a lot.

Wednesday 16 is much the same, with “widespread rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms” across the region (minus Almería), “more intense during the first half of the day and in the western half, where they may be locally heavy and persistent”.
Aemet also forecasts “light to moderate winds from the west or southwest”.
