The Costa del Sol will get the worst of the stormy weather for the next couple of days, but the weekend should be dry
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday December 12
The south of Spain is in for a stormy couple of days as thunder, lightning and rain are expected across several parts of Andalucía on Thursday and Friday, though it should be drier for the weekend.
Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued yellow and orange weather alerts for the coast of Cádiz and Málaga all day long on Thursday December 12 for the risk of storms and rainfall which could bring 30mm of accumulated rainfall each hour.
It will also be stormy in many parts of Seville and the west of the autonomous community, though no weather warnings have been issued there. Minimum temperatures continue to fall, while the winds will be “moderate and occasionally strong on the coast” but “generally easing in the afternoon”.

For Friday December 13, there are more weather warnings for the Costa del Sol, and also the coasts of Granada and Almería as the stormy weather moves its way eastward. Aemet forecasts that this “heavy” rainfall will ease of as the day goes on, “tending to partly cloudy in the afternoon”.
Snow levels are above 1,600 metres, while it will be a misty morning for many, especially in Huelva, Córdoba and Jaén.
Andalucía weather warnings, Friday December 13
There are no more weather warnings for now on Saturday 14, as Aemet predicts sunny “skies with cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds, with light precipitation on the Atlantic coast and the area of the Strait of Gibraltar during the first half of the day”.

Minimum temperatures on Saturday are slightly down again or unchanged, with light frost in the eastern mountain ranges, while maximum temperatures may go up ever so slightly to highs of 18-20ºC on the coast and 12-17ºC inland.

Looking ahead to the beginning of next week, Aemet is not currently forecasting more rain and showers for Andalucía, but rather sunny and cloudy – if somewhat chilly – conditions.
