The north of the province of Alicante has been issued with a weather warning for torrential rain at the beginning of the week
Average temperatures on Wednesday July 3
The DANA that crossed Spain last week is finally abating but before it goes, it’s going to leave plenty of rain in the Valencian Community, and the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow warning for storms in the north of Alicante at the beginning of the week.
This will clear up very quickly though, and the rest of the week promises to be mostly bright, warm and sunny.
Monday July 1
The first of the month will be dominated by slightly cloudy skies and while the worst of the thunderstorms should be confined to the north, there’s a chance the rain could spread to the rest of Alicante province in the form of much weaker showers.
Daytime temperatures will fall noticeably compared to the scorching weekend, and the mercury will also take a dip on Monday night. Light, variable winds could feel blustery along the coast in the afternoon.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Monday
Alcoy: 19ºC to 26ºC
Alicante: 21ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 21ºC to 26ºC
Elche: 20ºC to 28ºC
Orihuela: 21ºC to 30ºC
Tuesday July 2
Mostly bright and sunny on Tuesday aside from some overcast spells in the afternoon inland.
Thermometers will shoot up in central Alicante and rise more moderately along the coast, while westerly winds will be mostly light.

Alicante: 21ºC to 28ºC
Denia: 20ºC to 28ºC
Elche: 20ºC to 30ºC

Wednesday July 3
The forecast for Wednesday is almost identical to Tuesday but the daytime temperatures will continue to climb, reaching a sweltering 36ºC in Orihuela.
Minimum and maximum temperatures on Wednesday
