Sunshine and heat before the rain hits: Spain weather forecast Nov 13-16
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Temperatures all across Spain will be much warmer than usual until the middle of the week
Weather outlook on Monday November 13
Settled weather with slightly cloudy skies, unusually warm temperatures and very little rain will predominate in Spain at the beginning to the week with the exception of the northwest, which will be hit by a succession of Atlantic fronts.
While the winds that battered most of the country last week will remain fairly strong along the Cantabrian and Mediterranean coasts, they’ll ease off elsewhere, and the weather will be generally pleasant in most regions.
“On Monday, the atmosphere will warm up on the Mediterranean coast,” explained State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) spokesperson Ruben del Campo. “The beaches will fill up again and temperatures will exceed 28ºC in places like Llíria, Benifaió, Alzira or Murcia. On Tuesday, high temperatures will prevail and the heat will be intense again in Murcia and the city of València, where they will reach almost 30ºC.”
Monday November 13
Monday will be marked by slightly cloudy or clear skies with the usual exception of the northwest, where it will be overcast and wet. Night-time temperatures will begin to climb in Andalucia and the Canary Islands but after a scorching Sunday, the day will grow slightly cooler on the Mediterranean coasts. However, the mercury will increase in practically the entire country, reaching 28ºC in Murcia.
Tuesday November 14
The thermometers will shoot up on Tuesday, hitting a summery 31ºC in Murcia, and the night will be considerably warmer in most of eastern Spain. The anticyclonic weather will continue in most regions, with mostly clear skies and very little rain, except in the extreme north.
Wednesday November 15
In the northwest, the arrival of several Atlantic fronts is expected to result in very overcast skies and plenty rainfall, although this will not extend further south, where the day will once again be bright and pleasant. Few changes are expected in the nighttime temperatures but the daytime heat will begin its decline in the Mediterranean, although most parts of the extreme south will still hit the mid 20s.
Thursday November 16
The effects of the high pressures should mean balmy weather in much of the country, with intervals of medium and high clouds in most places. Once again, the northwest will bear the brunt of the Atlantic fronts although the rain won’t be quite so heavy.
Temperatures will drop in the west of the country and the Canary Islands but will continue to climb in eastern Spain and the Balearic Islands.
