The snow and rain look set to beat a retreat in the Region of Murcia by this Thursday
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday February 16
The weather for the beginning of this Valentine’s week will be a continuation of last week in the Region of Murcia – damp and chilly – but the cold, wet spell looks set to finish by this Thursday, giving way to more settled conditions.
On Monday February 13 it will still be overcast with dark clouds covering the entire Region and light rain in the west, in municipalities such as Lorca and Caravaca de la Cruz, where there was more snowfall this weekend. In the south, however, in Águilas and Mazarrón, the sun will begin to peek through by late afternoon for a welcome break.

The story is much the same for Tuesday 14, Valentine’s Day, with the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicting the weather to cast a dark cloud over lovers’ plans. There will be fog and mist up in the northwest corner of the Region, and stronger easterly winds along the coast of up to 29kmh, but nowhere near the gale force winds which are leaving the neighbouring province of Almeria on alert.

The rainiest day of the week will be Wednesday 15, when the whole of the central and northwestern parts of the Region will have “light rain”, though Aemet also notes that temperatures will begin to rise, with maximums in the early afternoon hitting 16-18ºC, especially along the coastline near Cartagena. In addition, minimum temperatures at night-time are no longer expected to drop below zero at any point this week.

As of Thursday 16, though, and heading into the weekend, there is no more rain forecast anywhere in the Region, and it should turn out to be a fine weekend with “cloudy intervals”, a welcome change from the wet week before.
