The hugely popular festival will be held in the Vega Baja town from February 4 to March 6 after a two-year absence due to Covid
Torrevieja's spectacular Carnival will make an eagerly-awaited return next month, and the Town Hall promises the event, declared of Regional Tourist Interest, will be bigger and better than before.
The Town Council and Torrevieja Carnival Association last week agreed to go ahead with this year's carnival "in compliance with all safety and preventative regulations, both current and those that may arise", and are awaiting a reply from the Valencia Government regarding the use of face masks.

The festivities kick off at the Municipal Theatre on Friday February 4 with a performance by Spanish singer and actor, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Jiménez, better known as 'El Sevilla', and footage from the carnival in 2020.
The following day, the 30th anniversary of the election of Adult Carnival Queens will be celebrated at the theatre.
The line-up includes:
Friday February 11: Animal Carnival with a parade of pets and a fancy dress competition on Paseo de Vista Alegre.
Saturday February 12: National Drag Queen Contest at the Municipal Theatre.
Sunday February 13: Carnival Matero will be held for the first time in Plaza de Encarnación Puchol, La Mata district.
