ARCHIVED ARTICLE
Murcia is offering half priced accommodation for travellers who are residents in Spain
The Ministry of Tourism in the Region of Murcia is launching a new discount campaign which will offer a 50% discount on accommodation to those who book their holidays through the participating travel agencies.
This campaign is part of the efforts to support the tourism sector in the Region and between 2020 and 2021, the regional government allocated around 50 million euros and aided almost 9,000 businesses.
The ‘Tourism Experience Bonus’, or ‘Bono Experiencia turistica’ in Spanish, aims to promote travel within the Region during the off-season and help travel agencies relaunch their activity after this industry was brought to a near halt during the pandemic.
Terms and Conditions
Anyone who is registered as a resident in Spain, in the Region of Murcia or anywhere else in the country, can benefit from these 50% discounts; up to 250 euros on trips at least two nights long. The discounts can be applied at one or more accommodations and will be applicable on trips booked between now and May 31, 2022, although the Christmas period is excluded from the offer (December 17 to January 10).
Only one voucher per applicant is allowed and the discount is applicable to the room and board part of the travel package, as long as the board is bed and breakfast or half-board and alcoholic beverages are excluded.
The types of accommodation included in the campaign are hotels, tourist apartments, campsites, rural houses, rural inns, hostels and rental houses for tourist use. The vouchers, which will be awarded in order of reservation, are available for free on the Murcia turistica website. Once registered, the applicant will receive an email with their promotional code and will then have a period of seven days to contact one of the participating travel agencies and book their holiday.
In order to provide more information, the Ministry of Tourism has set up a telephone helpline (868 401 159), operating between 10am and 8pm, and an email address (bonoturisticoregionmurcia@tragsa.es) to solve any problems and answer questions.
