Daytime temperatures will rise mid-week in Alicante province but thermometers will drop at night
A week of very stable weather is forecast in Alicante province and whilst daytime temperatures will remain slightly higher than usual for this time of year, night-time temperatures will start to drop.
The reason for the mercury's mid-week rise is due to the "pumping of onshore winds" which are causing thermometers to "shoot up all along the Mediterranean coast", according to meteorologist Lluís Francés, who added that "the presence of an Atlantic trough will not help the heat to subside in the province" over the coming days.
Monday September 5 will get off to a sunny start, with intervals of high cloud in the afternoon. A light variable wind will prevail, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), with breezes on the coast and predominantly westerly winds further inland.
