Where the rain will strike this week: Andalusia weather forecast September 23-29
Get ready for the rain to sweep through the south of Spain this week
This week in Andalucía, we will see the slow march of a bank of dark clouds and persistent rainfall as it works its way across the autonomous community from west to east, giving just about everyone a thorough soaking at some point.
That won’t begin until Wednesday, though, as for Monday September 23 the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts “fairly cloudy or clear skies,” plus “temperatures with little change” and “light westerly winds, more intense on the coast”.

The forecast for Tuesday 24 is much the same, with the addition that minimum temperatures will be “in slight decrease in the western half of the region, with little change in the rest.” Maximum temperatures will be mostly unchanged, say Aemet.

It is on Wednesday 25 when the cloudiness takes over in earnest, with rain forecast for the far west of Andalucía, in Huelva near the border of Portugal and Extremadura.

By Thursday 26, that rain will spread down to around halfway across the region, bringing scattered showers to Seville, Córdoba and Cádiz. While Málaga, Granada and Almería should remain dry for the moment, for Thursday, Aemet warns of “very strong gusts on the Mediterranean coast and the eastern third” of up to 30kmh.

On Friday 27, that rain will have left Huelva and the west behind to dry out, instead cutting a swathe across the centre of Andalucía, soaking Cádiz, Málaga and Jaén and even reaching down to Granada and Almería by the late afternoon. This day will also be notably cooler, with a drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures by a couple of degrees.

For Saturday 28, there will still be some lingering showers for Almería and parts of coastal Málaga and Cádiz, and some more very strong winds in Almería and Cádiz on Saturday and Sunday 29, but for everyone else it will be another bright and sunny start to the weekend.
