Wind and rain bring the cold again: Murcia weekly weather forecast January 15-21
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
The weather takes a turn for the chillier and wetter this week
It was a gloriously sunny weekend with lovely, warm temperatures but we can expect a cold snap to sweep into the Region of Murcia this week, bringing very strong winds on Wednesday and rain on Friday.
This Monday January 15, will be mainly sunny, with some chance of light rainfall in the northwest of the Region. There will also be some lingering dust clouds which will affect the air quality, especially in southern and central parts of the Region, so the local authorities recommend avoiding intensive workouts and sporting activities outside.
The morning of Tuesday 16, too, will be sunny with some high cloud cover, before the dark clouds settle in in the afternoon, bringing with them some rain to the western half of the Region. However, Murcia will not get the soaking that much of the rest of Spain will get and by Wednesday 17 most of the rain and clouds will have cleared up.
That said, Wednesday will be an incredibly windy day, and yellow weather warnings are in place from 10am until midnight for gusts of 50-60kmh (gale force 7) winds on the coast of Murcia, creating waves up to 3 metres high, and for windspeeds of up to 70kmh in the far northwest.

Thursday 18 should be a more settled day, but it is Friday 19 when the temperatures take a nosedive. From minimums of 9-14ºC at night on Thursday, we will suddenly drop down to 3-9ºC, and maximum temperatures during the daytime will go from the low-20s down to the mid-teens. It will also begin to rain steadily across the day on Friday, especially in the afternoon.

Next weekend should, according to the current forecast, be a bit drier but still very cloudy and retaining those lower, chillier temperatures.
