Yellow alert for yet more heavy rain and storms: Alicante weather outlook May 29-June 1

Southern coastal areas of Alicante province are likely to take the brunt of the persistent rain and thunderstorms
Heavy rain and storms have marked much of the last 10 days in Alicante province and as we bid farewell to May and move into June, the outlook doesn't look any brighter.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow alert for more of the same to come on Monday May 29 and Tuesday 30, particularly in Alicante city and southern coastal areas.
Monday will get off to a patchy cloudy start but from midday onwards, those clouds will build and much of the province can expect heavy showers and thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will peak at around 26°C accompanied by a light variable wind with sea breezes from mid-afternoon.
Alcoy: 13°C to 20°C
Alicante: 17°C to 22°C
Denia: 15°C to 22°C
Elche: 15°C to 24°C
Orihuela: 16°C to 26°C
Cloudy skies will shape Tuesday morning, May 30, with a low probability of showers on the coast. From midday onwards, the cloud will build with showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy. Temperatures are unlikely to change noticeably and a light variable wind with sea breezes is forecast from mid-afternoon.

Alicante: 16°C to 22°C
Denia: 15°C to 22°C
Elche: 15°C to 24°C
Orihuela: 16°C to 25°C
Again, low cloud with intervals of high clouds are forecast on Wednesday morning, May 31. From midday onwards, showers and thunderstorms will return, more likely further inland. Temperatures will rise slightly during the day accompanied by a light variable wind with sea breezes.

Denia: 16°C to 25°C
Elche: 14°C to 26°C
Orihuela: 15°C to 27°C
The picture looks very similar on Thursday June 1 with the fresh month getting off to a cloudy start with showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy further inland. Temperatures are likely to fall by a degree or two and a light variable wind with sea breezes will prevail from midday.
