Music, parades and numerous shows and activities for children in Los Alcázares throughout the festive season

In Los Alcázares as in the whole of the Region of Murcia the Town Hall has programmed numerous activities during the Christmas, New Year and Three Kings season, the majority designed for children but with enough carol concerts, other musical events and grand parades to keep the grown-ups busy too!

The main venue is the Manuel Floreal Menárguez, in front of the Town Hall.

The 2022-23 program includes the following:

December 17 to January 8

Christmas market in and around the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Saturday December 17

Municipal competitions for the best decorated shops and homes, as well as a Christmas carol contest, begin. Further information is available on the Town Hall website www.losalcazares.es.

10.00: Guided tour in Spanish of the air base of Los Alcázares, beginning outside the main entrance. For prior bookings click here.

10.00: Free guided cycle ride to see urban street art in Los Alcázares, starting at the tourist office. For prior bookings click here.

10.00: Go-karting morning at Go Karts Mar Menor, price 15 euros.

17.30: “Papanoelada” motorcycle rally in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez, with a ride around the town centre, all riders dressed as Father Christmas and donating gifts of toys and/or non-perishable foodstuffs.

20.30: Choral Mass in the church of La Caridad featuring the choir of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, Coral Son del Mar Menor and the municipal choir.

21.30: The blessing of the municipal “Belén” or nativity scene in Paseo Real de la Feria.

December 17 and 18

Sunday December 18

18.00: Christmas dance gala by Élite Danza in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Monday December 19

17.00 to 19.00: A travelling Santa house and royal postman tour the municipality to take delivery of present letters for Father Christmas, today stopping in the Plaza Miguel de Cervantes in Los Narejos.

Tuesday December 20

17.00 to 19.00: The travelling Santa house and royal postman, touring the municipality to take delivery of present letters, visit the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez in the centre of Los Alcázares.

Wednesday December 21

17.00 to 19.00: The travelling Santa house and royal postman, touring the municipality to take delivery of present letters, visit the Plaza Miguel de Cervantes in Los Narejos.

18.30: Gymnastics display by the Club Rítmica Alkazar at the Pabellón 13 de Octubre.

Thursday December 22

17.00 to 19.00: The travelling Santa house and royal postman, touring the municipality to take delivery of present letters, visit the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez in the centre of Los Alcázares.

20.00: Dance gala by the Escuela Baile Jesús Quiles in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Friday December 23

17.00 to 19.00: The travelling Santa house and royal postman, touring the municipality to take delivery of present letters, visit the Plaza Miguel de Cervantes in Los Narejos.

Saturday December 24

18.00: Father Christmas visits Los Alcázares to watch children’s theatre and take part in a photocall in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Monday December 26

10.00: Pairs and couples chess tournament in the marquee in Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

12.00 midday: A Boxing Day dip in the Mar Menor at the Playa Carrión, registration at www.lineadesalida.net (price 5 euros).

17.00: Children’s workshop in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Tuesday December 27

17.00 to 19.00: Children’s workshops in the Plaza Miguel de Cervantes in Los Narejos.

18.30: Emocionarte, children’s theatre in the marquee in Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez, admission free of charge.

20.00: Special Christmas concert in the Casa Consistorial, admission free of charge.

Saturday December 31

12.00 midday: Children’s New Year party in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

12.00 midnight: New Year party in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez with the chimes of midnight, twelve lucky grapes and a glass of sparkling cider as well as live music from the Orquesta FYV Band.

Monday January 2

17.00 to 19.00: Workshops and a visit from the Royal Messenger to collect letters addressed to the Three Kings in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Tuesday January 3

17.00 to 19.00: Workshops and a visit from the Royal Messenger to collect letters addressed to the Three Kings in the Plaza Miguel de Cervantes in Los Narejos.

Wednesday January 4

12.00: Live music for young children from La Pandilla de Drilo with the show “Navidad Rock” in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

17.00 to 19.00: Workshops and a visit from the Royal Messenger to collect letters addressed to the Three Kings in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez.

Thursday January 5

17.00: The Grand Three Kings parade begins in Carril de las Palmeras and then follows Avenida Libertad to the Town Hall of Los Alcázares.
