Children’s entertainment dominates the festive season schedule in Totana

Throughout the school holidays over Christmas the New Year and Three Kings, a wide variety of events and activities are scheduled in the town and municipality of Totana, including the following:

Thursday December 22

10.30: Carol concert by the El Paretón music school at the CEIBas Guadalentín venue.

17.00 to 21.00: Christmas market with intercultural games and dances from around the world as well as stalls selling various wares and workshops for all the family, in the “Tío Juan Rita” park.

Friday December 23

19.00: Flamenco choral Mass with the Choir of Santa Cecilia, followed by Christmas carols, at the parish church of Las Tres Avemarías.

19.30: Choral Mass in the church of Lébor.

20.30: Christmas concert at the church of Las Lomas in El Paretón.

Saturday December 24

12.00 to 22.00: Christmas Eve party with music and tapas in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja.

Sunday December 25

11.00: Cuadrillas music and dance groups in Calle Virgen del Pilar.

12.00: More cuadrillas music and dance groups in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja.

19.00: Choral Christmas Mass in the church of Santiago El Mayor.

Monday December 26

10.00 to 13.00: Christmas workshops at the Las Vertientes venue in El Paretón, registration open until December 23 at the Ludoteca, price 5 euros. Designed for children aged 3 to 13.

17.00 to 19.00: The Three Kings pay an early visit to the church of Las Lomas in El Paretón to take delivery of present letters.

Tuesday December 27

10.00 to 12.30: Christmas musical fiesta for children aged 3 to 13, in El Paretón, registration at the local music society.

Wednesday December 28

17.00: Roscón de Reyes cake for all in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, registration 3 euros to be donated to the E.L.A. association.

20.15: The Orfeón Ciudad de Murcia and the Santiago choir of Totana offer a concert at the church of Las Tres Avemarías.

Friday December 30

11.30 to 13.30 and 17.30 to 19.30: Skateboarding for beginners for children aged 6 to 17 at the La Cruz skatepark, registration free of charge on 636 558077. Please bring your own equipment and comfortable clothing!

18.00: Las Hadas en Christmas World, a musical at the Centro Sociocultural La Cárcel. Admission free of charge, please bring a toy to donate to children in need!

18.00: Zumba masterclass at the Sala Polivalente in El Paretón. Price 1 euro.

Saturday December 31

12.00 midday: New Year for children as the clock strikes 12 in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja.

17.00: A New Year’s Eve party begins in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja with music and entertainment and the tolling of the bells every hour from 20.00 until midnight.

Sunday January 1

16.00 to midnight: A living nativity scene in the town centre.

Monday January 2

11.30 to 14.00: Workshops and games for children in the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja.

17.00 to 20.00: Bouncy castles at the Asociación de Vecinos in El Paretón.

20.00: New Year’s concert by the Con Forza association and Levante Brass at the Centro Sociocultural La Cárcel.

Tuesday January 3

17.15: An official reception for Their Highness the Three Kings in the Plaza de la Constitución.

18.00: The Adoration of the Magi in the church of Santiago El Mayor.

Wednesday January 4

16.00: The Three Kings, Melchior, Balthasar and Gaspar, visit the Auditorio Municipal Marcos Ruiz to collect present letters from children.

Thursday January 5

16.30: Three Kings parade in El Paretón, starting at the church of Cantareros.

18.00: The Grand Three Kings Parade in Totana. Route: Plaza de la Constitución, Puente, San Antonio, Juan XXIII, Glorieta, Alberto Grey Peinado, Puente de los Frailes, Encomienda, General Aznar, Plaza de la Constitución.
