August 18 to 20 Cabo de Pop music, tourism and water sports festival in Cabo de Palos The annual Cabo de Pop festival returns to Cabo de Palos over the weekend of August 18 to 20 in an event which, despite its name, is much, much more than just a music festival.

Alongside live performances from acts such as Las Ligas Menores, Confeti de Odio, Ganges, Axolotes Mexicanos, Semana Santa and Wakame are a host of activities and events, including food trucks, an arts and crafts market, scuba diving excursions, kayaking, sailing, diving, paddle surfing, guided visits to the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos and creative, artistic and educational workshops. Registration for all activities is now open at reservas@cabopop.com, by telephone on 621 281322 or via the website of the festival.

With a clear environmental conscience, the festival prioritizes “green” activities including beach cleaning, re-use and recycling workshops and others, and there is also a family zone called “Pop Kids” with its own workshops and sporting and musical activities.

August 18 to 20 Cabo de Pop music, tourism and water sports festival in Cabo de Palos On the musical front, the inclusion on the bill of the Argentinian group Las Ligas Menores marks the first time the festival has become international, while other big names including the in-vogue dream pop group Ganges and indie stars Axalotes Mexicanos. Representing the Region of Murcia are Wakame, an indie combo who combine elements of dream-pop and “shoegaze”.
