The Business Association visited new Private Hospital situated on the Camposol urbanisation, due to open soon with an investment of 11 million euros
At the invitation of Mazarrón Mayor, Gines Campillo and Councillor for Camposol and Health, Carmen Navarro, the Camposol Business Association (CBA) represented by President, Julie Townsend and committee member, Paul Drury were given a guided tour of the soon to open private hospital which has been constructed following an investment of 11 million euros by the Mederi Salud group.
Conducting the tour was hospital Director of management, José Javier Aranda and spokesman for the Mederi Salud group, Francisco Cánovas. Although some of the equipment was waiting for installation it was clear that the complex is near completion and is equipped with three operating theatres and six surgeries, as well as a 24-hour emergency service with a dedicated entrance on Calle Madrid next to the Camposol Business Centre and pharmacy.
Other facilities will offer more than 40 specialties and health services, from general medicine, surgery, nursing, cardiology, pneumology, gynaecology, dermatology, paediatrics and geriatrics, among others. Radiodiagnostic equipment – TAC (CT Scan), Ultrasound, X-rays, Mammography, Magnetic Resonance (MRI Scan), Analytics laboratory (see image gallery below).
The main reception for the hospital for non emergency admissions is on Calle Jerez de la Frontera next to the Camposol Medical Centre (Consultorio). The hospital also has 18 in patient rooms plus consultation rooms totalling 38 beds, a triaje room, in house catering facilities and outside terraces for patients and visitors to relax. The hospital is expected to generate 80 direct jobs and about 250 indirect jobs and will serve municipalities such as Murcia, Alhama, Totana, Fuente Álamo, Librilla, Lorca, Águilas, Cartagena and the northern area of Almería.
Unfortunately, the tour did not include the Da Vinci surgical robot as that operating room had been sterilised, but the rest of the facilities were viewed and a video of the tour will be released on Facebook and YouTube soon.
After the tour, CBA President Julie Townsend remarked “This is a very impressive facility and a huge investment in Camposol and the Mazarrón municipality. We look forward to seeing it in operation soon.”
