The Joseph L. Mankievicz classic continues the latest season of Cineforum screenings in Los Alcázares

The Asociación Eco Cultural de Los Alcázares and the Culture department of the Town Hall have launched another “Cinefórum” season of classic cinema screenings consisting of a selection of 4 great movies during the autumn of 2026.

The season continues at 18.30 on Friday 30^th October with “All About Eve”, directed by Joseph L. Mankievicz in 1950 and starring Bette Davis as an aging Broadway star, and Anne Baxter as an ambitious fan who becomes her rival. The prominent supporting cast includes George Sanders, Celeste Holm, Thelma Ritter, Gary Merrill and Hugh Marlowe.

It was nominated for a record 14 Oscars, including 4 nominations for actresses Davis and Baxter for Best Actress and Holm and Ritter for Best Supporting Actress, eventually winning 6 (including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor for George Sanders).

 

Entry to the Salón de Plenos of the Town Hall for this screening, as well as a short explanatory chat which will be given in Spanish, is free of charge, making this a great way to spend your Friday evening!
