The new connections to Lyon, Milan, Berlin and Amsterdam mark a major boost to Seville's airport network
Low-cost airline EasyJet has unveiled plans to introduce four new routes from Seville, linking the city directly to Lyon, Milan, Berlin and Amsterdam. Along with this exciting news, the airline also announced a 42% increase in operational capacity for the 2025 winter season. The announcement was made during the Routes Europe 2025 congress, which is currently taking place at the Fibes Exhibition and Congress Centre in Seville.
Seville's Mayor, José Luis Sanz, welcomed the news as "wonderful for Seville," highlighting that EasyJet’s continued commitment to the city reinforces its growing importance as a key European hub. He explained that these new connections will open up new avenues for tourism, investment, and international business, benefiting the city's global profile.
Sanz also expressed his appreciation for the role of Javier Gándara, the general manager of EasyJet for Southern Europe, noting the airline's confidence in Seville as a strategic destination. He further acknowledged the Andalusian Regional Government, Seville Airport, and the Routes Europe organisers for their part in making this achievement possible.
"Each new route brings not just more flights, but more opportunities for growth and job creation," Sanz remarked. He also pointed out that Seville now boasts over 87 direct routes, with a 13.8% increase in passenger numbers over recent years.
"We’re seeing a historic moment in air connectivity for Seville. This isn't just by chance – it’s the result of a shared vision and ambitious strategy," the mayor added. "Seville is more than ready to continue growing and leading the way."
In addition to these four connections, Volotea will launch the new service starting November 4 of this year, connecting Seville with the French city of Bordeaux. This service will also have two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a planned offering of more than 14,800 seats across approximately 84 flights.
This will become the company's fifth route from Seville, having already connected to Asturias, Bilbao, San Sebastián and Santander.
