Free Alicante Spring Trails from the end of April to June

The programme of guided tours celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Alicante's Urban Paths Network
Alicante City Council has launched the 2023 edition of its Spring Trails programme to mark the 10th anniversary of Urban Paths Network.
The guided walks in April, May and June are free and offer the chance to explore the city, its monuments and natural areas of interest while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Each route has a maximum of 50 places and anybody wishing to take part must register in advance.
Alicante's Councillor for the Environment, Manuel Villar, explained: "we are celebrating a decade of guided tours of the most unique environmental areas of Alicante, with the participation of hundreds of Alicante residents and visitors who have a new opportunity to learn in detail about the local flora and fauna, while enjoying the most characteristic landscapes of Alicante".

Sunday April 23: Walk through the Traditional Centre during which part of the history of this area will be revealed through the city's most representative or striking arboreal heritage, including the centenary ficus trees in the Plaza de Gabriel Miró, the Portal de Elche and the Paseo de Canalejas.
Saturday May 6: Alicante Towers Trail. Explore the Torres de la Huerta starting at Sarrió Tower and find out more about 11 of Alicante's 16th and 17th century towers during the course of the 8km walk.
Saturday May 20: Cabo de la Huerta Trail. Starting at Albufereta beach, the 5km walk with pass through Almadraba beach, Cala Judíos and the micro-reserve of flora in Cala Cantalares which forms part of the Sites of Community Importance (SCI) of the Valencian Community proposed in the Natura 2000 Network (European Union). It continues along Cala Palmera to the vicinity of the Cabo de la Huerta lighthouse, ending at San Juan beach.
Saturday June 3: This trail will take place on Mount Orgegia which, with a surface area of 77 hectares, was the first site to be included in the Metropolitan Forest Plan for the 21st century.
