Overall hospital pressure is steadily going down in the Andalusian community
14-day incidence rate in Andalucía since March 2020
After two weeks of continuous decreases in the number of people hospitalised with Covid in Andalucía, the figures have gone back up by 14 today.
On the other hand, infection rates, incidence rate and even ICU occupancy are all down. According to data provided by the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA), since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 1,327,415 confirmed cases and 12,797 deaths, while the number of people who have recovered from the virus has risen to 1,163,313.
New infections
In Andalucía in the last day there have been 1,815 infections, which is extremely positive in comparison with the 6,379 new cases identified over the weekend.
Malaga, with 374 new positives, leads the increase in the number of infections in Andalucía, followed by Seville, with 302, and Almería, with 270.
Cumulative incidence rate
The 14-day cumulative incidence rate in Andalucía continues to fall, now standing at 433.6 per 100,000 inhabitants, 33.3 points less than yesterday.
The province with the highest incidence rate is Almería, with 561.4, followed by Córdoba, with 509.1, while the lowest is Seville, with 340.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last fourteen days, followed by Cádiz, with 360.4.
Hospitalisations
Unfortunately, there were 1,015 hospitalisations in the last day (14 more than yesterday) while 126 remain in the ICU (two less than yesterday).
The last day on which hospitalisations rose was February 8 when they went up by 52, and since then everything has been decreasing until today. However, it is a smaller increase than was seen two weeks ago.
Those hospitalised by province are: Almería with 71, and 8 of them in the ICU), Cádiz (114 and 16). Córdoba (106 and 17), Granada (149 and 21), Huelva (51 and five), Jaén (109 and 15), Málaga (211 and 17), and Seville (204 and 27).
Deaths
There were 35 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, three more than over the whole course of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Jaén is the province with the most deaths on the last day, with eight, followed by Málaga, with seven, Cádiz, Córdoba and Granada, with five each, Almería, with three, and Seville and Huelva, with one each.
Vaccinations
With regard to vaccination in Andalucía, 7,205,156 people are fully vaccinated, 85% of the population over 5 years of age, and 3,998,108 Andalusians have already received the third dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus.
There are also 7,555,171 people who have had at least one vaccine jab – 89.2% of the regional population over 5 years old.
