Learn about the history of Mazarrón through some of the most iconic buildings of the town

This tour offers a chance to learn about the history of Mazarrón while walking through the streets of the old town and seeing the most important and emblematic buildings. These include the three main churches, the area around the late medieval castle built by the Marquises of Vélez, the Ateneo building and the exterior of the impressive Casas Consistoriales, the old Town Hall.

These monumental structures were made possible by the wealth brought to Mazarrón by the mining activity in the mountains behind the town.

The tour lasts approximately one hour and those joining will need their own vehicle: the route returns to the starting point, where vehicles are left.

The tour begins at 18.30, lasting approximately 90 minutes, and bookings and further information are available online here or through the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón (telephone 968 594426, email oficinaturismomazarron@gmail.com). The starting point will be communicated to participants after registration, but a car will be needed for most people to reach it!

Participants should bring drinking water and wear appropriate footwear. Those registering must give ID details, and under no circumstances may people join without prior registration .
