ARCHIVED - Murcia launches new energy tips website to help you save money
ARCHIVED ARTICLE
The service is aimed at lowering the electricity bills of all consumers in Murcia
Murcia City Council has launched its first energy advisory website where consumers can find practical advice on how to save on their electricity bills or on installing photovoltaic energy in their homes. It is, in the words of the Councillor for Ecological Transition, Andrés Guerrero, "to offer Murcianos practical and useful information so that they can make the right decisions."
In this regard, Mr Guerrero added that "we must also bear in mind that we are in a time of global energy crisis, with rising bills affecting families, and in which it is necessary to become aware of the use of energy to contribute to sustainable development in which we all fight against climate change".
This website has been launched through the Local Energy Agency of Murcia (ALEM) and offers the following assistance:
1. Tips to lower your electricity bills
With this free, safe and simple tool, the user will receive a clear report with recommendations on the modifications they can make to their contract, so that their electricity bill is reduced each month and they pay only what is necessary to cover their electricity consumption.
This bespoke report will also offer advice to consumers about how to make the most of low-tariff hours.
2. Personal report on solar power installations
This second free tool will provide consumers with a personalised photovoltaic self-consumption report indicating the type of solar power unit they should have installed. It will also estimate the amount of solar energy that could be generated based on energy consumption, as well as giving a forecast of installation costs.
How to use the system
To take advantage of either option, users will first have to complete a short online form and enter their personal information: DNI, name, surname, email and mobile, and authorise the City Council to access their electrical consumption data.
An email will then be sent confirming that your data has been received, and your personalised report should arrive to your inbox a short time later.
In-depth technical know-how isn’t required to use the website as both systems are very straight-forward, and the service is available to all individuals, businesses and SMEs with 2.0 TD and 3.0 TD type 4 rates with contracted power of less than 50kW.
