New UK flight connections to this Andalucía city coming in 2025 and 2026
Jet2 will operate new flights between the UK and Jerez starting next May, while Almería Airport will have a new connection to Hungary
At the World Travel Market 2024 (WTM) in London, one of the most important tourism fairs in Europe, new flight connections have been agreed between airlines and Andalucía tourism boards to regional airports in the provinces of Cádiz and Almería to start in 2025.
Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz
British airline Jet2 will have flights between the United Kingdom and Jerez airport, with serves Cádiz, starting from May 2025, with the company expecting to transport some 14,000 tourists next year and to reach 44,000 travellers by 2027.
The British cities with flights to Jerez in 2025 will be Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester, and from 2026 will also include connections from London and Bristol.
Germán Beardo from the Provincial Tourist Board said, “This agreement, thanks to which thousands of visitors from the United Kingdom will enjoy the province, is a great step towards further consolidating Cádiz as a year-round family tourism destination. It will be a boost for the economy and will strengthen our position in the international tourism market.”
In addition, Almería Airport will be linked to Budapest airport in 2025 for the first time ever.
Vice President of the Provincial Council of Almeria, Fernando Giménez, said, “Almeria will gain an air connection with a market that is very interested in the tourist offer of the province and that will allow the province to have more tourists and flights. Specifically, the flights will link the airports of Budapest and Almería.”
These Hungary-Almería flights are projected to run once a week through the summer 2025 season, “which would translate into about 3,000 travellers this first year”.
The Almería delegation are also studying how they can increase the number of tourists and flights with the United Kingdom, as well as opening news routes to airports in Europe.
Direct flights from Almería to Morocco are already slated to begin in January 2025, with charter tours from travel company Soltour.
As well as this, Giménez assured that relationships with other countries were being explored at the WTM.
“We have managed to strengthen alliances with key markets both for their loyalty and their purchasing power, such as Iceland and Luxembourg.”
