As of Thursday evening Galicia, Extremadura and the offshore islands are the only areas of Spain NOT enforcing border closures and movement restrictions
The whole of central Spain has announced border restrictions for the forthcoming weekend, which in all cases except Madrid and the Valencia region will apply for a two week period as regional governments attempt to prevent the mass movement of the population during a weekend in which it is tradition to visit family burial plots and normally involves travel outside of the home municipality.
In all cases the intention is to limit NON ESSENTIAL TRAVEL, particularly leisure travel, so all of the regions except Galicia and Extremadura will only be permitting entry into their regions for justifiable reasons. If you are travelling through these regions there will be no problem doing so, the only problem some travellers may face is when they reach their destination they may be asked to justify the reason for their journey before being granted access into a region. For those catching ferries to leave Spain or flights there are no problems crossing through regions and currently the borders with France and Portugal remain open.
