The Plaza de España in the Andalucía capital has been rated among the top tourist attractions around the globe
Many factors help determine our next holiday destination: the cost, the weather, amenities and facilities. But tourist attractions are one of the main draws for most areas and this year, Seville has come out on top.
Data analysts at ‘Stasher,’ a luggage storage network, have trawled through Google reviews, mentions on TikTok and local info such as distance from the airport, safety and the quality of local accommodation to rank the 99 best global tourist attractions.
The Andalucían capital has reached the very respectable spot of number 4 on the list of top tourist attractions of the world, with the Plaza de España in Seville scoring 7.13 points out of a total of 10.
Designed for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, the Plaza is world famous for its Renaissance-style architecture and is framed by the stunning Maria Luisa Park. Spanning a total area of 50,000 square metres, the Plaza’s star feature is the 515-metre-long canal spanning its perimeter, which can be crossed by four beautiful bridges that represent the ancient kingdoms of Spain.
The giant towers standing sentry at either end of the Plaza can be seen from all over Seville and the renowned square has been featured in several Hollywood blockbusters, including Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

Stasher’s worst tourist attractions in the world
Although it’s considered one of the most popular and well-known holiday spots, racking up millions of visitors each year, the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles has been given the dubious title of the worst tourist attraction in the world. This grave position is based on Google reviews and various surveys, with most holidaymakers describing it as dirty and unsafe.
Coming in at number 2 is the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, whose score was pulled right down by a lack of tourist security and the fact that it’s almost 46 kilometres from the nearest airport.
