Binter has been recognised by the Association of European Regional Airlines
In a major coup for the Spanish aviation industry, Binter, a Canarian carrier, has been crowned Regional Airline of the Year by the Association of European Regional Airlines (ERA).
The prestigious award recognises Binter's outstanding commitment to supporting local economies and travellers, as well as its pioneering efforts in sustainability and technology.
The ERA jury, comprising 55 leading European regional airlines, was impressed by Binter's impressive track record. The airline's dedication to sustainability, innovation and customer experience has earned it a reputation as a leader in the industry.
In the past year, Binter has opened five new routes, generating significant growth in connections and passengers. Its commitment to technology has also been a key factor in its success, with the airline leveraging cutting-edge solutions to boost efficiency, environmental performance, training and safety.
The 'Airline of the Year' award was presented to Binter's vice president, Alfredo Morales, who stressed that this award "means a lot to Binter, as we celebrate the 35th anniversary of our airline."
"Safety, quality service and constant innovation represent our priority values and providing our customers with the best travel experience is our main objective, so being here tonight receiving this award means that we are doing well," said Morales.
In addition, the company won the 'Regional Connectivity Award', in relation to the sustainable growth it has achieved, with a special mention given to the new routes in the Canary Islands-Madrid corridor. The manager of Binter Airlines, David Manzanas, said that this recognition shows "the hard work we do every day with the aim of connecting people and places."
Although Binter is a Canarian airline founded 35 years ago, it also operates outside the archipelago, with 15 routes to mainland Spanish destinations and 13 international routes. The airline has already transported more than 83 million passengers and has one of the most modern fleets in Europe. Binter currently has 38 aircraft (28 ATR + 10 Embraers), to which six new Embraers will soon be added for a total of 44 aircraft.
