ARCHIVED - 144 new cases and one covid death in the Murcia Region on Saturday
ARCHIVED ARTICLE The number of active cases rises to 1835
Source of figures; Murcian regional health authority; see below for source data
On Friday the Murcia Region recorded 155 new positives, a record high for the region to date, so the Saturday figures of 144 new cases could be viewed by social media users desperate to see a chink of light amongst the gathering mass of dark clouds as a positive figure, although 144 is still the second highest daily figure yet recorded in the region and follows a week in which the number of cases increased by 450.
These latest new cases bring the total of positive patients in the region up to 1835, which is another record for the region.
Of these 1719 patients are in home isolation, but the number in hospital has now risen by 4 to 116, with 16 in intensive care.
Unfortunately, there had been another fatality; a 98 year old female suffering from existing medical conditions which is hardly surprising at 97, who was in the Morales Meseguer hospital in Murcia city. This increases the fatalities total to 156.
Below is a list published on Wednesday evening detailing the locations of the cases diagnosed within the LAST 14 DAYS.

PCR testing continues apace, with 2.312 PCR and 59 antibody tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
The number of cured cases amongst those tested by PCR is 2,433 to which can be added 1706 antibody positives which are not included in the cured figures.
