ARCHIVED - 31 year old amongst 3 covid deaths; Murcia Tuesday 29th September
The number of cases reported today is below 200
Spokesman for the regional Health Service, Jaime Pérez, has warned that there is no reason to “set the bells ringing just yet” after the region reported the first day with new cases under 200 since August, saying that the full figures for the week should be taken into consideration, not just one day, and that the low figures published today are due to a low level of tests undertaken yesterday, just 2,122, half of the level performed recently on average.
The actual number of new positives detected on Monday (bear in mind, the figures reported on Tuesday relate to the testing undertaken on Monday) is 197, bringing the total number of cases diagnosed to date in the Murcia region up to 20,440.
Of these, there are currently 8,091 active cases, a lower figure than yesterday due principally to the fact that the number of cases given the all-clear on Monday was 354, as opposed to 197 new cases, bringing the number of active cases down, which is good news.
Of the 197 new cases, 80 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 19 to Torre Pacheco, 19 to Totana, 14 to Molina de Segura, 10 to Alhama de Murcia, 8 to Cartagena, 5 to Archena, 5 to Ceutí, and 5 to Fortuna, the remainder distributed around the region in smaller quantities.
Top image shows the number of PCR tests daily, the blue the number of tests, the red line showing the percentage of positives.
The image below shows the fatalities; as can clearly be seen, September has been a busy month.
Note, the first figure shown is the actual number of cases diagnosed in the last 7 days, the second is the IA rate for the last 7 days (number of cases per 100,000 of population): In brackets the number of cases is indicated as either a positive or negative compared to the situation on Monday, taking into consideration that patients are recovering and being removed from the list all the time)
Abanilla 12/195 (+10) ( This means 12 cases in the last week and an IA rate of 195, so below average, with 10 cases more than when the last figures were published)

Hospitalisations
In spite of the low number of cases, hospitalisations increased by 3 patients to 343 and four people moved into intensive care, bringing this total to 68.
9% of the total beds in the region are now occupied by covid cases, so the region is slightly below the national average in this respect.
Recoveries
The total number of cases given the all-clear is now 10,434.
Other covid news today:
- 107 schools across the region now have classes in quarantine. In the last 24 hours one teacher and 31 pupils have tested positive, and there are now 1252 teachers and pupils in quarantine.
