All municipalities in the Murcia Region are now using the online booking system for Covid vaccinations. It is simple to use and very efficient, helping to reduce queues and confusion.
If you are need an appointment for your second vaccine, this will be given to you when you arrive for your first vaccine, and is usually the same place and time but on a different date.
If you are trying to book an appointment for your first Covid vaccine or a third booster shot, follow these 8 steps:
Scroll down to find the municipality where you are registered, and click on the blue button.
At this point you will be offered available dates on which vaccines are available in your municipality, based on your age and vaccination status (e.g. if you are over 50 years old).
Be aware that slots fill quickly and the health service only issues blocks of appointments from time to time, so it is necessary to keep checking the site.
Click on the link under ‘Cómo pedir cita’ (which means, ‘How to book appointment’), and the click ‘Acceder a cita previa’ (which means, ‘Access appointment’).
Fill in your health card number (CIP, which is the long alphanumerical number at the top of your health card. There are two types of health card and if you are unsure which number to enter, then to the right of the log-in panel is a question mark. Click on that and the two types of card can be seen and it is clearly indicated which is the number to be entered. Use capital letters.) and then your Date of birth (‘Fecha de nacimiento’). Then click ‘Entrar’.
The system will offer an appointment. If this is not convenient, select change appointment (‘Cambiar cita’) and generally another date or time will be offered, depending on the availability at your particular vaccination centre and the days scheduled for vaccination.
Supply telephone number as requested and confirm appointment.
A reminder can be sent by email and if you require a reminder, fill in the email field as indicated.
And that’s it! Very straightforward.
If you are unable to book for any reason, then go to your local health centre and ask for help.
If you are over 60 and have not yet been given an appointment,GO TO YOUR LOCAL HEALTH CENTRE AND INFORM THEM THAT YOU HAVE NOT YET BEEN VACCINATED.
OVER 60s CAN CURRENTLY ACCESS A BOOSTER JAB FROM THEIR LOCAL HEALTH CENTRE WITHOUT HAVING TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FIRST.
Even if you have private healthcare, you are legally entitled to a vaccine. If you have private healthcare and have not yet registered a request for a vaccine, go to your nearest health centre and ask to complete the form requesting a vaccine, or complete it online HERE and then go to the health centre.
If you do not speak Spanish take someone with you who does.
