Hospitalisations continue to notch up new records on an almost daily basis
There’s no let-up in the number of new coronavirus cases being diagnosed in the Region of Murcia at the moment and the latest figures published on Tuesday (relating to the 24 hour period concluding at midnight on Monday) include 560 new cases.
This takes the total of ACTIVE cases in the region past the eleven thousand mark for the first time, to 11,040. The total number of cases diagnosed since the pandemic began in the Murcia Region is now 39,275.

Of the 560 new cases, 206 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 45 to Alcantarilla, 26 to Molina de Segura, 28 to Yecla, 25 to Cartagena, 23 to Torre Pacheco, 21 to Jumilla, 17 to Alhama de Murcia, 16 to San Javier , 12 to Archena and San Pedro del Pinatar and 11 to Santomera. The remainder are distributed around the region in smaller quantities.
The table below shows the total number of cases diagnosed by municipality and the number of cases in the last 14 days and last 7 days by municipality, giving the number of cases per 100,000 in each instance.
The total number of cases per 100,000 in the region is now 368 over the last 7 days and 725 over the last 14 days, both the highest figures yet recorded in the region.

Fatalities:
Eight further fatalities have been added to the figures during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 350 and the total since the region entered the “new normal” to 200.
The eight deceased are six males and two females, aged 89, 89, 84, 74, 84, 87, 80 and 60, two of them from Campos del Río, two from Bullas and one each from Murcia, Caravaca, Alcantarilla and Archena.

Hospitalisations
The number of patients hospitalised increased by 18 patients in the last 24 hours to 556, another new record, although the number of patients in intensive care remained at 100, the same as on Monday.
The remaining active cases are all mild, and these patients are in home isolation, this total now being 10,484.
Recoveries
492 patients originally diagnosed via PCR test were given the all-clear on Tuesday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 26,179.
