There has been no notable increase in daily infections in the Region of Murcia but ICU admissions have crept up
The coronavirus pandemic in Spain has been swinging back and forth for the last several weeks but in the Murcia Region, the cumulative incidence rate is steadily declining and has dipped well below the national average.
Daily infections have hardly budged since the last update published by the regional health authorities, but the number of people admitted to hospital and intensive care has grown slightly.
Coronavirus infections
The Region of Murcia registered 1,327 new cases of coronavirus since the last update, 387 of which were recorded on Monday July 25.

Of the total cases, 79,224 have been diagnosed in people over the age of 60.
Cumulative incidence rate
The latest data provided by the regional health authorities on Monday July 25 show that the 7-day cumulative incidence rate has dropped further to stand at 349.33 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The average incidence over a two-week period also reflects this slowdown, decreasing significantly from 890.71 cases last Friday to 772.13.
There are currently 341 people hospitalised for Covid in the Region, 10 more than on Friday. Of these, 16 patients are being treated for more serious illnesses in the Region’s ICUs, an increase of three.
Another seven Covid-related fatalities have been registered, bringing the overall death toll since the start of the health crisis to 2,368.
Covid testing
A total of 3,082,879 antigen and PCR tests have been carried out in the Region of Murcia.
