Weather outlook on New Year's Eve

The last week of the year in the Andalucian community will be marked by stable, dry and sunny weather, as well as a slight rise in temperatures which will continue day by day.

According to the State Meteorological Agency’s expert, the pleasant weather could be interrupted by an approaching storm over the weekend, but if this travels to the south of Spain at all, any rainfall will hit the mountains in a very weak and dispersed way.

And as we edge towards the new year, "the cloudiness disappears and the skies will be clear again," he added.

The mercury will climb progressively as the week goes on, and by the time we hit January 1 the temperatures will have gone “from being below the average to being above it."

Wednesday December 27

Mostly clear skies are forecast on Wednesday with the exception of the Mediterranean coast and the west of the region, where it will be more overcast and there’s a good chance of mist and fog banks. Most of inland Andalucia, along with the east coast, can expect frost although the temperatures will remain largely unchanged.

Almeria: 7ºC to 17ºC

Cádiz: 7ºC to 15ºC

Cordoba: -1ºC to 16ºC

Granada: -4ºC to 17ºC

Huelva: 2ºC to 15ºC

Jaen: 4ºC to 15ºC

Malaga: 5ºC to 17ºC

Sevilla: 1ºC to 16ºC

Thursday December 28

Thursday will be predominantly cloudy with morning mists in the western part of the community. It will still be frosty inland but daytime temperatures will begin to rise.

Almeria: 8ºC to 17ºC

Cádiz: 8ºC to 18ºC

Cordoba: 0ºC to 16ºC

Granada: -3ºC to 17ºC

Huelva: 3ºC to 17ºC

Jaen: 6ºC to 14ºC

Malaga: 9ºC to 17ºC

Sevilla: 3ºC to 18ºC

Friday December 29

It will be cloudy across the board on Friday and there is a chance of some light showers in the west. Nighttime temperatures will continue to creep up but the maximums will take a dip in the east, especially inland.

Cádiz: 10ºC to 17ºC

Cordoba: 3ºC to 16ºC

Granada: 4ºC to 16ºC

Huelva: 6ºC to 17ºC

Malaga: 10ºC to 20ºC

Sevilla: 6ºC to 19ºC

Saturday December 30

It will be rather overcast all day in northern Andalucia while the rest of the community should remain bright. Nighttime temperatures will fall, with isolated weak frosts in the eastern interior but the day should be noticeably warmer everywhere except for the Mediterranean coast.

Cádiz: 8ºC to 17ºC

Cordoba: 1ºC to 17ºC

Granada: 4ºC to 18ºC

Huelva: 5ºC to 17ºC

Malaga: 10ºC to 20ºC

Sevilla: 4ºC to 19ºC

Sunday December 31

The settled weather will continue on New Year’s Eve, as will the exceptionally high daytime temperatures, with Malaga in particular expected to exceed 21ºC. The evening will also be a couple of degrees warmer in most parts.

Cádiz: 9ºC to 18ºC

Cordoba: 2ºC to 17ºC

Granada: 5ºC to 18ºC

Monday January 1

An approaching Atlantic front will result in a much cloudier day on New Year’s Day with a blustery wind moving from the south and west. Both day and nighttime temperatures will remain higher than normal.

Cádiz: 12ºC to 18ºC

Cordoba: 5ºC to 18ºC

Granada: 6ºC to 17ºC

Huelva: 9ºC to 19ºC

Malaga: 14ºC to 22ºC

Sevilla: 8ºC to 20ºC
