The alleged perpetrators of numerous violent robberies in the area of the Botanical Garden have been remanded in custody
Two brothers who were wanted by the police did not hesitate to risk their lives to escape from agents by climbing the façade of a building.
Agents of the National Police have since managed to capture these two brothers and attribute numerous violent robberies to them in the capital of Málaga.
The judge, for his part, has ordered the provisional imprisonment of the suspects.
The brothers were mainly active in the area of the Botanical Garden, the Limonero dam and neighbouring rural properties.
Investigators were on their trail, as in the last two years they had increased their alleged involvement in robberies with knives, as well as those committed inside vehicles.
Among their robberies is the attack suffered by two young Ukrainian hikers in the spring of last year.
The victims were walking around the reservoir area when they were allegedly assaulted by these individuals who even went so far as to stone them.
After the robbery, the brothers, aged 21 and 22, hid in different rural properties in the area, squatted in houses and went out only at night to commit the robberies.
They used force to break into rural properties or gain access to vehicles, and they also used violence and intimidation to frighten people they attacked on dirt roads.
The search operation, in which agents from the Homicide Group and the Northern District Police Station participated, was prolonged due to the precautions taken by the suspects, who changed their criminal routines periodically.
In fact, in recent times, they were hardly seen and only moved along lanes that were exclusively accessible on foot.
In addition, the investigators found that their relatives had set up surveillance to provide them with cover.
Finally, on October 25, after obtaining the relevant authorisation to enter and search the family home of the suspects in Malaga, both were arrested by agents assigned to the investigation.
At that time, there were eleven legal claims between the two. After being brought before the court, the judicial authority ordered the imprisonment of both arrested persons
