The heaviest of the downpours in the Costa Blanca's Alicante province are likely on Thursday and Friday
A yellow level warning for rain and possible thunderstorms has been issued along Alicante coastline with 48 hours of downpours forecast from Thursday, according to the State Meteorological Agency.
Between 20 and 60 litres of rain per square metre is expected in one hour and it looks as though the risk of rain will continue into the weekend, although less intense or widespread.
Following a bright start further inland, or overcast elsewhere, Thursday November 10 will get decidedly wetter with the onset of showers accompanied by thunderstorms which may be locally heavy or persistent in coastal areas during the afternoon. Weaker and occasional showers have not been ruled out inland. Temperatures will fall, particularly maximum temperatures and there will be a light variable wind, tending towards easterly and northeasterly as the day progresses with moderate intervals on the coast.

Denia: 12ºC to 22ºC
Elche: 11ºC to 23ºC
Orihuela: 12ºC to 21ºC
Friday November 11 is also set to be cloudy or overcast with showers accompanied by thunderstorms which, again, may be locally heavy and persistent. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly while maximum temperatures will drop or remain unchanged. A wind from the east and northeast will be light to moderate, stronger on the coast.

Saturday November 12 is shaping up to be a predominantly cloudy day with scattered showers, less likely towards the south of Alicante but locally heavy with thunderstorms in northern coastal areas. Thermometers will rise marginally, both at night and during the day, accompanied by a moderate easterly wind on the coast; lighter breezes further inland.

Moving into Sunday November 13 and those clouds continue to persist with a chance of scattered and occasional showers forecast in all but the south of the province. A light easterly wind with moderate intervals on the coast.
