ARCHIVED - All Andalusian residents in their 30s can now book Covid jabs
ARCHIVED ARTICLE
The health authorities in Spain’s Andalusia region have announced that patients born in 1990, 1991 and 1992 are able to book appointments to be vaccinated as of Tuesday 13 July.
Andalusia continues to lower the age limit for vaccination against coronavirus.
The region’s health service (SAS) has announced that patients born between 1990 and 1992, in other words, those who are or will be 29, 30 or 31 this year, can book appointments for their first doses of vaccine.
There are various ways of booking appointments: through the SAS website, ClicSalud+, via the Salud Responde mobile app or phone line, 955 54 50 60, or directly with your local health centre, preferably by telephone. Patients are either given appointments for second doses during their first, or contacted later by their health centres via text message or telephone. Appointments can be checked via the ClicSalud+ website in the ‘Mis citas’ (my appointments) section.
Patients in this age group will be administered the vaccines by Pfizer or Moderna, like all others in their 30s, the health authorities have confirmed.
The SAS is also working to contact the 11 per cent of patients aged between 40 and 69 who have yet to have their jabs. Andalusia is running mass vaccination days in all eight provinces where patients in this age group can turn up without appointments.
In these cases, the single-dose vaccine by Janssen is being used as it is easier to transport and store while still providing high levels of protection against severe cases of Covid-19 including the Delta variant, the regional authorities have stressed.
If you are in this age group and have not yet been vaccinated, contact your local health centre urgently and make sure they are aware of your situation.
